Trattoria Ai Girasoli — Restaurant in Trieste

ZERO ORPELLI / TANTA SOSTANZA E QUALITA' . Io e mia moglie siamo stati in questo locale per due sere di fila il 20 e 21 Dic '24 durante un nostro (purtroppo breve) soggiorno a Trieste ed abbiamo avuto la fortuna di scoprire per puro caso l'esistenza di questa trattoria. Si tratta di un locale del tutto privo di "ricercatezze" estetiche, ma stracolmo di pura sostanza. Il pesce è cucinato e servito con cura, ma è, chiaramente, SCELTO con cura e passione. Freschissimo, delizioso, molto, molto ben curato e adatto sia ad essere servito come antipasto (menzione d'onore sia per la granseola che per delle straordinarie capesante) o come sugo per dei primi di pasta o di gnocchi (alla grande sia le vongole che i moscardini cucinati alla perfezione, dal sapore ricco, completo e mai, mai appesantito da spezie) o come seconda portata (io ho adorato i "sardoni" impanati, un classicissimo della cucina tradizionale triestina). Non posso dilungarmi, ma garantisco che anche i dolci sono sublimi e concludo solo ribadendo che, la trattoria "Ai Girasoli" è un piccolissimo ambiente "popolare" nel senso più bello del termine, dove si mangia genuino, si è serviti con attenzione e ci si sente "a casa". Prezzo assolutamente competitivo (nel nostro caso, due antipasti, due primi - oppure due secondi - vino bianco al calice, dolce per due, caffé e… grappa per me ;-) 70 euro. Feel like we were missing something here... Octopus gnocchi was nice but the gnocchi was over cooked, the calamari was small and came with a sad portion of French fries from the freezer. Salad wasn't great and house wine wasn't the best. Service was friendly but there were only 2 other people in there on a Friday night... No music and the tv was on so seriously...

Hello, this Restaurant should only get one Star but for the efforts, they get two Stars. A Friend of mine and I ordered an antipasta meal with mussels and more than the half of the Bowl were raw. And the dubious thing was, that we didn't get a bill.
