Trattoria da Basile — Restaurant in Trieste

We finally had the chance to try one of the best fish restaurants in Trieste. I'm not saying it because we are neighbours! =D Hearing the menu was the first big impression, the ingredients hit you first. We tried three antipasti, which were all delicious. We wanted to skip the primi just to be able to enjoy the secondi fully, but every pasta dish the neighbouring tables had looked delicious. Soo, next time I'm coming for the primi! We love tuna anyway, but the tuna carpaccio and then the main dish with poppy seeds, burrata and pistachio was amazing as well. I also fell in love with the lemony potato purée that accompanied the fish so perfectly. I am already biased about the desserts, but I had a delicious mango sorbet, and also tried a spoonful of the pistachio mousse. Top! Great place, great food, great...

I’d like to add to the many positive reviews of Trattoria da Basile. The food was simple and elegant with refined flavors. It is the best seafood we have had in Trieste. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Our servers were also very attentive and patient with our lack of Italian language.

I would definitely recommend the shrimp tails with horseradish, the orecchiette and octopus goulash, and the spaghetti with clams.

This is a nice, slightly out of the way restaurant that is a refreshing change from the tourist focused places...

Egy apró, de nagyon hangulatos, szépen és stílusosan felújított étterem. Külónféle tengeri herkentyűket választottunk, kérve a felszolgaló ajánlását is, aki készséggel segített a döntésben. (Teljesen jól elboldogultunk az angollal, ahogy egyébként mindenütt, ez a kilsé sem igaz, hogy egy szót sem beszélnek angolul...) Minden fogás tökéletes, sőt kiemelkedő minőségű volt, ezt lehetne ragozni, de felesleges, mert ilyen véletlen nincs. Néhányan előttem némiképp kritizalták a kiszolgálást, én erre semmi okot nem látok, kifejezetten figyelmes, udvarias vendéglátók. Bátran ajánlom mindenkinek a helyet, ha ez kevés lenne, a helyiek is látogatják, az pedig csak jelent valamit. A számla a szervizdíjat is tartalmazza, ketten, egy-egy sört is fogyasztva 115€-t fizettünk, ami az ételek, kiszolgálás, a környezet színvonalát tekintve teljesen korrekt ár. Parkolás? Azt Triesztben felejtsd el, vagy találsz fizetős helyet vagy nem, de inkább nem, egyébként az étteremtől nem messze vannak ingyenes parkolóhelyek is, de 5 nap alatt egyszer nem láttam üreset. Buszozz, sétálj vagy bérelj robogót, százszor jobban jársz, mint végeérhetetlen köröket róva a belvárosban, helyre vadászva kb....
