Great service, but the main course was pure disappointment
I’m a true ravioli lover — I know good pasta when I see and taste it. But what I was served at this restaurant was simply unacceptable.
I ordered ravioli for €18, and what I got was seven tiny little ravioli — honestly, barely enough for an appetizer, let alone a proper first course. On top of that, they had no flavor whatsoever. I couldn’t even tell if they were homemade or store-bought, but either way, they were nothing like real ravioli. Just small, tasteless squares with no character, no richness, no soul.
The fish in the starter was very small too, but since it was an appetizer, I can let that slide. However, when you’re charging this kind of money for a first course, there should be at least some quality, quantity, and satisfaction. Instead, I left feeling like I had just wasted my money and filled the pockets of someone who didn’t deserve it.
And the second course? I didn’t even dare to try it. After that disappointing plate of ravioli, I left the place and went to another restaurant to actually eat something proper. That should say it all.
One thing I’ll give them: the staff was very kind and the service was excellent. But unfortunately, there’s nothing to say about the food — because it was simply not there. And in a restaurant, that’s what matters most.
I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it. Spending this kind of money to walk out still hungry and disappointed is...
Read moreWe stumbled across this gem whilst walking the cobbled laneways of this enchanting seaside town. Run by a gorgeous young couple, she front of house, he head chef. The food is absolutely high end and delicious. A feast for the eyes and taste buds! Flavours are clearly defined and well balanced. The local Calabrian wines are magnificent and pair well with the offerings. We sampled primi, secondi and dolci, and all were outstanding and very reasonably priced for the quality. The ambiance is perfect, set in a lovely little square away from the hubbub, with an imposing palazzo as a backdrop. We loved this place so much, we went twice during our three night stay! We highly recommend this beautiful restaurant when...
Read moreWe stayed in Tropea for a week and visited Marasusa restaurant twice. Our first visit left an excellent impression — tasty food, great location, and attentive service. Unfortunately, our second visit on September 26 was disappointing. After dinner, I experienced food poisoning symptoms, spent the whole night with stomach pains, and in the morning my husband had to go to the pharmacy for medicine. Our planned trip to Alberobello became very difficult, and I had to spend most of the time in the hotel room. As a result, two days of our holiday were ruined. I would like to kindly suggest that the restaurant pay more attention to food storage and preparation, as this directly affects guests’ health and...
