Loved this place. Staying at the NH Centro around the corner and just went for a wander to see if we could find somewhere for a late night snack. This place was very friendly and welcoming. The pizzas were huge and delicious and (compared to London) amazing value. Would highly recommend- in fact we’re here for 3 nights and already thinking about going back on our last night.
UPDATE: Hmmmm….said we enjoyed it so much we’d go back and we did but second time was not so great. We checked that the pizzas we wanted came with a tomato-base sauce not a white sauce, but both came out with a white sauce. They were good about sending them back but when my pizza came out for the third time it still had a white sauce! To get it wrong once is unfortunate but twice is just odd. To be fair they comped us one dessert and the food was very good but it just took the edge off what had been a great first experience. Still I’d recommend people go there and I’d go back if I came to Turin again. The staff...
Read moreI have been living in Torino for a few months now and, during that time I must admit that other than pizza I have not eaten a lot of Italian food. Yesterday I was walking down Corso Bolzano and saw some folks eating outside of Grattacielo and their plates looked very inviting. So, I decided to try it for myself so I could I confidently recommend it to by guests coming in a couple of weeks. I can confidently say that not only will I recommend it to them but I will put it on my short list of regular places to eat. I ordered the Spaghetti and Clams and it was probably the most tasteful that I have ever had. It was so good that I didn't even ask for Parmeggiano to put on it which I would have done if I were living back in the U.S. Also, the warm bread that they gave me before along with some hot chilli oil was to die for! If you're in Torino GO, GO, GO to this place and see for yourself. I also need to mention that the service was top-notched also. It...
Read moreI was impressed by the capacity and warmth of the staff. Eugenia is an impressive server with geniune hospitality in her heart. She is on the ball to accomodate requests with a smile, a real one that shines from the soul. Paolo, too, is authentic and engaging in his service. Between the two, I found myself satiated and relaxed, as if eating at home amongst friends. If the energy weren't enough, I also love the impasto. A crust that's light with the perfect amount of salt. I enjoyed my pizzas and the farinata- a torino classic that I'm always excited to try in diverse locations. I hope to visit again, if not this trip, then definitely during each return to Torino. Of course when I went back to say goodbye, Eugenia suggested I have a light meal before my flight. It was a very refreshing salad, and I even enjoyed the tonno despite not usually eating meat. Grazie, Eugenia!...
