Atlantide — Restaurant in Udine

My anger-fueled indigestion is keeping me awake. I think the staff at Atlantide managed about 8 different ways to insult. I ordered a starter of Scallops and as main courses my wife and I ordered a Pizza and Spaghetti Vongole. We were served the starter and Vongole together so I raced through my starter so we could eat our main courses together. I asked for the Pizza. By the time it came - and it looked a lot like it just never made the original order - my wife was almost finished. As I ate the pizza the waiter cleared my wife's setting. I asked him not to. He said she's finished and continued. I asked again not to and said it was strange. He cleared anyway and, with all the contempt he could muster, walked off repeating 'that's strange'. When he returned I told him we had effectively eaten separately. He told me after 30 years they knew what they were doing. We argued. He spent three minutes telling me I didnt know how to eat Italian food. When he knew deep down they had served a stater and main course together, he told me he wasn't prepared to argue with me. Too late for that. All in all, it was pig-headed rudeness from a waiter with contempt for his customers. There's too much more to bother with. The Vongole was excellent, the pizza and scallops were bland. Hard to distinguish my Diavola from a Pepperoni. I guess they spice the insults instead of the Diavola. Caratteristico ristorante/pizzeria nel pieno centro di Udine. Ambiente curato e accogliente, caratterizzato da una grande vetrina all'ingresso dove vengono esposti tutti i prodotti ittici. Personale gentile e accogliente. Menù ampio e interessante con proposte di carne/pesce/pizza. Abbiamo optato per: polpo grigliato con burrata (15,00€) abbinamento ben riuscito ma c'era poco polpo capesante grigliate (12,00€) buone paccheri allo scoglio sgusciato (14,00€) ottima cottura della pasta, sugo saporito e buona quantità di pesce (sconsigliato a chi non ama il piccante) calamari freschi alla griglia (15,00€) porzione abbondante e morbidi grigliata mista di pesce (19,50€) nulla da dire, abbondante e accompagnata da un altrettanto abbondante contorno di verdure grigliate. delizia al limone (5,50€) un classico ma buona acqua 0,75l (2,50€), coperto (2,00€) Ho apprezzato molto la presenza della glassette proposta anche per un semplice vino sfuso della casa servito in brocca ma al tempo stesso il prezzo è risultato leggermente più alto della media (mezzo litro 8,00€). Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene e ci ritorneremo sicuramente, magari per provare anche le pizze....
