Ristorante Enoteca Marcucci — Restaurant in Unione dei comuni della Versilia

We decided to have dinner in this place last Saturday. So it was a typical over-crowded summer evening. First and foremost: the tables are crammed outside along the road. Distance between you and the other guests is 15cm at most - this is something I really hate and can understand only for typical tourist traps in big cities. We had "mortadella" appetizers for €25/person - they brought few slices of very typical mortadella, same as in supermarket. We had historical "polpette" for just €20 and they brought four extremely small meatballs. Let's move on: we asked for sparkling water, and they brought us (first time in my life in an italian restaurant) water in a tin can. We opted for the steak as main course and yes, meat was delicious ..fantastic - juicy...tender...it was anazing. Overpriced though. My wife asked for a glass of wine...as I was driving - they brought us a very sour and almost hot red wine - as the temperature outside was almost 30°C - but I thought that a "vinoteca" should know how to keep wine refrigerated. I asked for a coffee and they forgot to bring it. I'm sorry but please stay as far away as possible from this place - there is absolutely nothing...

Bad service (or simply understaffed), poor food quality and too expensive prices. Had the pasta and tomatoe soup as a starter. The pasta had no taste and the soupe was so thick that you could eat it with a fork. For main course we ordered the veal cotlette which was more than well done. After complaining did the waiter say that the chef said it has to be cooked like this and he could offer instead of a beef fillet. After several tries to order the cotlette medium we gave up and took the beef filet indtead of. This one was cooked perfectly with the only problem that the beef was expired and tasted extremly sour. The side dishes (patatoes and the tomatoe selection) were very boring; No taste of the tomatoes and the potatoes felt like they were warmed up already a couple of times. We have confronted the server with our experience of the food. We werent offered to jot pay for the meat we basically couldnt eat. We actially feel like the waiters tried bit the kitchen was the problem. Frustrating after a week in italy with much better food in the smallest most random places. This is the first time I have ever given a restaurant a poor review, but I felt I needed to inform others of the terrible food here. We are from NYC and there is infinitely better Italian food there than in this restaurant. Really disappointed in this meal. Most expensive meal I’ve ever had in Italy and there was zero flavor.
