I've been there on New Year's Eve and, together with some friends, bought some local products (wine and cheese), spending a substantial amount and then went away. When 15 minutes later we decided to get back in the store/restaurant/osteria (???) trying to have a celebration glass of wine to toast the new year approaching, we were told, despite the fact that no table inside was occupied by any punter whatsoever and we had been there already spending some cash, that unless we were eating something, we couldn't have a glass of wine there. Nothing like that was specified on the menu hanging outside, about this "rule", bear in mind! Pity, perhaps the proprietors don't want business, because they make enough money with the wine and cheese they sell inside? Well, if that is the case, pleased for them. It would be just nice to advise customers that you are not entitled to have drinks, unless...

Best place in Montemerano to get antipasti di salumi e formaggio/pecorino etc. with a great glass of red wine/Molinello. Fantastic bruschetta with super fresh olive oil. Ask for their artichokes in oil. The people runng it are very friendly. The location is great to see locals chatting in front of their houses in the afternoon. We arrived after the Baths of Saturnia and landed here accidentally!! Best food ever! Salami, antipasti, cheeses, butter beans, artichoke, wine!!!Not to mention the chocolate!!!! Just try whatever Ettore and Ivana suggest! They were amazing hosts, and if you're looking for an authentic Italian experience do not miss this place! Would give 6 Stars if we could!!...
