Premiata Pizzeria della Motta — Restaurant in Varese

I came here last February with my son during a trip to Varese . We had arrived late afternoon and we came to the center around 9 PM. Many restaurants and trattorias were closing. This ristorante was not only open, but packed with a noisy crowd of customers. There was a waiting list which we had to book. The waiting time wasn’t long and I can tell that it is worthwhile waiting. The service of the Camarieri is very nice. But the best part was when we got our Margherita and egg pizzas : they were simply delicious. Cena in 4 un sabato sera fiacco, la maggior parte dei tavoli erano vuoti. Siamo rimasti molti delusi sia dalla qualità della pizza che da quella del ristorante, ma andiamo con ordine: -Arrivati ci han fatto accomodare tra due tavoli già occupati quindi schiena contro schiena. poco male, se non fosse che ogni volta che qualcuno si muoveva andava a toccare la schiena dell'altro. -Il menu è proprio antico e fatiscente, un A3 stampato ed infilato in qualche maniera in una bustina di plastica rotta e sporca. -le pizze sono carissime in rapporto al ristorante e soprattutto al gusto. In rapporto al ristorante, non c'è il tovagliolo di stoffa e nemmeno la tovaglia eppure ti sto dando 13€ per una pizza e 18€ per una bottiglia di vino. In merito al gusto, la pizza arriva tiepida ed è talmente sottile che se servita sul tagliere come fanno loro questa si raffredda prima di arrivare a metà, sarebbe molto meglio optare per un piatto caldo. La quantità di condimento va un po' a fortuna sia come disposizione sulla pizza che come quantità, su 4 pizze abbiamo avuto 4 dosi completamente diverse. -I coltelli non tagliano, e contando che la pizza si raffredda in fretta ti vien voglia di lasciarla lì. -Il servizio è lentissimo, chiediamo un'altra bottiglia di acqua ed arriva dopo 10 minuti. I dolci, come anche il caffè, dopo 15-20 minuti e gli amari dopo altri 20, mentre ci stavamo per alzare per andarcene infastiditi dalla cosa... siamo arrivati alle 20 ed abbiamo impiegato 3 ore per mangiare una pizza.

Totale della serata, 111,5€ per 4 pizze, 1 bottiglia di vino, 2 acque, 3 dolci, 2...

The pizza was acceptable, but the overall experience left much to be desired. Inside, the noise level was extremely high, making it difficult to hold a conversation.

The service was particularly disappointing. After a chaotic ordering process and eating our pizza, I requested an English menu from the waitress. Instead of bringing it promptly, she served three other tables first.

Ten minutes later, I gave up, paid the bill, and left. There are undoubtedly better dining...
