Pub The Scotsman — Restaurant in Varese

A great place to relax with plenty of options to drink and for really amazing looking food. Staff here was kind and quick with serving our orders, and we were able to communicate in English. (As expected from a Scottish pub).

We only had a drink each a mixed fried dish. The food was tasty and fairly salty which made it perfect to be combined with beers. The food other guests have ordered looked presented greatly and delicious.

Unfortunately we were unable to spend more time as we'd like to have due to our busy schedule.

Two guests, we got there late, by 8.30 PM of a Thursday evening. We arrived just before the pub went full, although there was already a lot of people. Very nice pub with an authentic Irish feeling, you don't see them often in Italy.

Ordered Beef & Beamish and Meat & ale pie, they both were good, but the pie was delicious. I also drank a Beamish, also good. Adding water, two delicious cheese cakes, we spent 47 euros.

4 stars because the service was a bit long and we wanted to try fish and chips, but at 8.30 PM it was already finished. We will be sure to come...

Situato al centro di Varese, lo Scotsman Pub ti accoglie con i suoi colori tipici della Scozia. Molto apprezzata l'attenzione ai dettagli, le finiture delle sedute e la particolare disposizione dei tavoli. Tocco di classe il cortiletto esterno al quale è possibile accedervi prenotando un tavolo. Il servizio molto serio e competente: offre una grandissima varietà di birre e liquori, oltre che a un vasto menù che va dal fritto, agli antipasti, ai panini e quant'altro. All'interno del locale è presente WIFI gratuito che supplisce alla difficoltà di ricezione della rete normale.

Pur apprezzando la raffinatezza del menù (sia per il bere che per il mangiare) ammetto che i prezzi sono leggermente sopra lo standard, cosa che non mi permette di "etichettare" lo Scotsman come un locale da frequentare una sera sì e l'altra pure (anche se ovviamente la cosa dipende dal budget di ciascuno). Questa piccola pecca però è ripagata dal contesto, dall'ottima cucina e dalla cordialità del personale.

Posteggio: non ha un posteggio dedicato e bisogna arrangiarsi a trovarlo nelle viette limitrofe. Se invece si vuole godere di una bella passeggiata, si può posteggiare in comodità presso Piazzale Kennedy (Stazione Ferrovie Nord) e in 10 minuti a piedi si arriva.

Conclusioni: per me è un sì per passare una gran bella serata in compagnia, sia per cenare che come dopo cena. Atmosfera calorosa e accogliente che si sposa bene con i gusti proposti sia dalla cucina che dal...
