We did not eat everything, we did not drink everything. The food was poor, the pesto tasted like a toilet bowl, everything was overcooked, they manipulated us, and forced you to order things, The bill was extremely excessive for dog food, I wouldn’t have payed more than 80 euros for the bill, this place is just a flat out scam , and the service was like Hellen Keller waited on us. Even if the bill was it was not worth anywhere near close to that. The fact that the owners reply to this and say we are wrong is sad it’s why your business is poor. Have some customer service, and then calling us disgusting Americans, there’s a reason our restaurants are successful, and it’s cause we have half a brain unlike you. Read a book watch a movie do something, you are ignorant. I had to basically wait on myself to get everything we wanted, and the waiter was poor, like waiting tables isn’t a hard job, just be nice and attentive. I’m a waiter myself I know how it works. I’d rather eat a McDonald’s. And your drinks were bad. There is nothing redeeming about the place, eat anywhere else. Genuinely go anywhere else you are all terrible workers and should resort to driving a bus, but seeing how you can’t use your own eyes to wait a table maybe you shouldn’t drive either. Call us what you want it’s just a poor attempt for an excuse or a way to pass the blame for you not being able to properly operate and manage a business.
East somewhere else save your time and money. Let me know if you want cooking lessons your attempt at pesto...
Read moreAsk for Fabio as a server if you can!!! 5 stars for him- not so many for the other guy on day 1.
I visited this restaurant twice in our 3 day visit to Venice. One night 1 we had a mojito (best I’ve had all trip), and an Aperol spritz. We ate a capri salad and shared a calamari plate. The capri salad was amazing, the calamari was a large portion and had a thick crumbing which isn’t our favourite, it was still a great meal. At the end our serve was relatively aggressive regarding a tip. He kept pushing and pushing for one. In the end we gave a very small tip… he was not fabulous- BUT Fabio on night 2, he was a great server.
Night 2 we ate the lasagna and a sea food boil bag in which were both good meals, followed by tiramisu and a cake type moose with cream, which I forgot the name. That cake was INCREDIBLE- the server Fabio suggested it to me. I would go back just for that dessert!! He did not disappoint! The service by Fabio was awesome and much better than the first night. He was happy, bubbly and just an overall good vibe!
To top the night off, Fabio gave us limoncello shots on the house. It was a great atmosphere, beautiful views and yummy food and drink. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Venice-...

Our visit to Al Gabbiano was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled right in front of the water, with boats gracefully sailing by, this gem of a restaurant offers not just a meal, but an entire experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff, particularly Fabio, went above and beyond to make our evening special. His recommendations were spot-on, and his genuine hospitality added a personal touch to our dining experience.
The food at Al Gabbiano is outstanding. Each dish, from the antipasti to the desserts, was prepared with the utmost care and skill. The flavors were authentic, vibrant, and memorable—truly a feast for the senses.
Being so close to our apartment, Al Gabbiano quickly became our favorite restaurant in Venice.
