BAR 1 CIAK — Restaurant in Venice

The first thing me and a group of my friends saw when we entered the place was how the waitress spelt a whole cup of sweet coffee with milk over their customer who was at the table. In a few minutes no one came with napkins to him, because the waitress was busy freaking out. We thought, okay, a bad day may happen.

But then this very waitress after a long wait confused us by unfriendly saying that the order they took from us was never being prepared and it was never available, she didn’t even take time to verify what we ordered, just said its not there.

After a couple minutes another waiter brought is the order. we asked if it is possible to take it back, because there is no fancy anymore.

The waiter said that he was a manager in a 5-star restaurant (apparently that should convince us to forgive whatever is going on inside the place) and started protecting the waitress saying that she just doesn’t speak english very well (again, what do we have to do with that?).

For an extremely overpriced place in the most touristic location, with staff not willing to solve the problem, but only to defend themselves, we will never go there again and would not recommend to anyone in case you want a...

I’ve been staying in Venice for 4 weeks in an apartment right across from this gem of a cafe bar. I’ve enjoyed every bite of food I’ve ordered - which is all reasonably priced (you can get a light meal and a couple of drinks for less than 20€) - and the many cappuccinos, spritz’s and Prosecco’s too. Best of all is the super-friendly and hard working staff who make your experience pleasant & enjoyable. They were also very patient with my beginner Italian which I appreciated. This little place and the great team of staff really enhanced my stay and was a definite fave for me. Grazie...

Incredible food. Tried the foccacia. My wife, who is not a huge pizza/foccacia lover couldn't stop eating it. I had the Romanello Italy, which is foccacia with tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. It was out of this world. My wife had a Greek salad with cucumber added. Food was fresh and tasty. The staff English was not perfect but they understand you really well. We could add stuff and ask for specific items and such. I highly recommend this place! I will for sure come back for a lunch. The foccacia was the best I ever had. Aperol was tasty and...
