Niki Bar — Restaurant in Venice

Unfortunately a very bad experience due to hostility of the waitress. My toast was served burnt like charcoal, the mentioned above waitress was not thrilled to me pointing it out or reminding about a forgotten mimosa. She clearly was not in the mood to listen to any of our remarks (even ordering a simple espresso turned out problematic with this waitress), the burnt salmon toast was taken away and another one was placed in front of me by already clearly annoyed waitress. She demanded I check if this time it is done to my liking, whilst staring angrily at me from above (I was seated). My friends were not impressed with the food either, I guess the food would be okayish and edible if served in a calm atmosphere but the waitress shouting at us spoiled the experience completely. Not something you would normally experience in a "hospitality" business. Maybe they need to change name from NikiBar to "Angry Karen". Anyways we were shouted at and told to leave. She would not even give us a bill so we just left some money where she grabbed some coins (not banknotes though, mind you) and threw them in my friend's handbag. I would say working in hospitality business is not for someone who has clear anger issues and is taking out their own frustrations on their customers. Zero taste, zero cleanliness, zero freshness. I wish I could give 0 stars. If you would like to have a clean and fresh breakfast then you are looking at the wrong place. Please read all the 1 star reviews before you go there. The people who gave 1 star are quite right. I ordered spinach, tomato and onion omelette. They brought everything in just 3 minutes. You can clearly understand that it wasn’t fresh at all. There was a midge in my spinach, I couldn’t believe it. I saw some dirt on my spinach leaves then I saw a midge on the leaf. The waitress was so rude, she didn’t even say I am sorry. Then she took the leaves and the midge. I wish I could have taken a picture before she came. She threw away the midge immediately and I could not say anything. They didn’t even offer a discount to make up for this. I can understand everything but cleanliness is the most important thing for me. I was wrong, it was my fault that I chose this filthy place. Even in the toilet, the flush was not working. I have never given one star to a place I have been at. And I wish I could give 0 stars. I have always found something positive. According to our experience, I do not recommend this place at all. To start with, when ordering a espresso (because I can’t drink milk), the waitress complaint that that was not the coffee I should have. I ordered the omelette with avocado, spinach, tomato and onion, as I thought it would be presented like in the photo in Google Maps and in their menu. To my surprise, the spinach was actually replaced for salad and the avocado was a cream avocado that looked more like guacamole from the jar. The onions were also from the jar, like pickles. The slide of brioche bread was a bit hard, but I didn’t mind. I think the cherry on the top was the service. The lady was so rude and in a bad mood and she even got offended and kicked us out.
