Fratelli La Bufala — Restaurant in Venice

I don’t generally write negative reviews at all but i have woke up this morning feeling quite upset at how little the staff in this restaurant cared about our meal last night. The campsite recommended this venue to us so we had great expectations. We both ordered the entrecôte steak and when it came i was very surprised to see the cut of meat was very heavy in fat... almost like a very fatty rib eye. I usually prefer a fillet type steak. I accept that maybe i ordered the wrong dish for my preference but what did surprise and disappoint me was the female member of staff who collected my pretty much untouched and uneaten meal, had no interest in asking if there was a problem with my meal. She simply took it away, said nothing and brought the bill when asked. I wasn’t after a free meal but some interest in why a customer has not eaten their meal is a basic level of service. Visited this evening for dinner, cant fault the service however when we had finished eating we noticed one of the chefs blow his nose several times and wipe his face then throw the tissues into the pizza oven whilst pizzas were in there cooking! When we paid my partner scanned his card (contactless) and decided to tell the girl what we saw, she ran off to get someone that could understand English, all the staff came over and listened in which was quite embaressing so we left. We were then chased down the street for not paying as we didnt realise the girl hadnt checked the payment had gone through before fetching the guy who spoke English which was so embaressing! Obviously we then paid again and apologised but nothing was said about the chef burning his snotty tissues on...

The food is amazing and fresh. I come here often. We tried pizzas, croquettes, salads. Everything really well composed. The problem is the workers don't even try to be good at their job. Doesn't matter if the place is full or just opened with only a few customers. You call the waiter a few times, and they ignore you, they don't even TRY to speak english, you wait 10min just to get the menu, then if you get your pizza and want to ask for olive oil they run before you ask for it. I get it you are busy, but maybe you should hire more people then? Once we came a group of 11 people and 3 of us ordered croquettes. They bring us 7 plates (I have no idea why). In conclusion food is incredible, but the customer service doesn't exist. If I was just judging...
