Our #1 restaurant in Venice! Seriously. Let me tell you why. We arrived in Venice, a little lost, actually looking for the bus ticket office. We ended up at La Griglia asking for directions. The incredible aroma of delicious food (we were traveling as a family) immediately convinced us: sightseeing could wait! We had to try it.
And they absolutely did not disappoint. The food was fantastic, but what really stood out was the exceptional customer service. I didn't catch our waitress's name, but her passion for the food and her spot-on wine recommendation were incredible. She deserves a raise! Seriously, the Cabernet Sauvignon she suggested was so good, we couldn't stop enjoying it.
The story doesn't end there. The next day, we visited the Venetian islands and tried a different restaurant – big mistake! We were so disappointed. Later that evening, trying to decide where to have dinner, we usually make a point of trying new places, but this time, we all agreed: we had to go back to La Griglia.
So, a tip for anyone reading this: skip the glass and order the bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. You'll understand why after the first sip.
Next time we're in Venice, we already know where we're headed for a fantastic meal and excellent wine. Thank you for the amazing experience; we truly had a wonderful time at your restaurant. See...
Read moreApril 26, 2023 Enjoyed our meal so much a few days ago ago we went back to enjoy the same tender and tasty chicken skewer meal with roasted peppers, zucchini, eggplant and the most crispy but tender puffy potato wedges meal. Ordered the mixed salad this time and was more than adequate to share. We asked our very friendly waitress if we could meet the owner. He informed us he is working on a new better menu in about a week. We can’t imagine how he can improve! Decided to enjoy a shot of Montenegro Amaro with him and the waitress. We highly recommend this very reasonably priced restaurant in Marghera. Too bad we are leaving Venice. April 22, 2023 Found this restaurant by goggling restaurants close to our hotel. Read reviews and only a 5 minute walk so decided to try. My husband and I shared a plentiful salad with shrimp, eggs, cheese and cucumber. We both ordered chicken skewers that came with grilled peppers, zucchini and eggplant and delicious potato wedges. Generous serving! Came with bread basket. I had red wine 3€ and my husband had a beer for 3.50€. Total bill came to 48€, good value for Venice. They do charge 2€ each for service. We plan to go back when we are in Venice in...
Read moreAwesome food, the employees were very nice as well! Received free bread and Romano cheese with pasta order. More casual place. You can charge your laptop or phone here next to a table that has an outlet. Food arrived quickly and felt authentic Italian plus lots of flavor. Prices ane value are excellent for this area. No pretentious or overly touristy vibe so I felt comfortable eating here solo, and they were very nice even though I came in an hour before closing time on Saturday. Plus, they speak English, Italian, and more languages. Their restroom is excellent, super clean as well as the rest of the restaurant. One thing I wouldn't do is order the red wine glass again though. It was a bit low quality. Bread was also subpar but for it to be complimentary i can't complain. I like the quiet atmosphere here as well. No annoying music like other restaurants, peaceful and quiet unlike in main Venice. I'd like to come again and try a vegetable dish of theirs since they use...
