Ristorante Bar Piccolo — Restaurant in Venice

Please avoid eating here if you are used to get nice decent service from the waiters or get food on quick time. Except for the pizza, everything else was average. But the service, horrible. I don't know if they were short staffed or had many tables but the girl who attended us, was very kind at the beginning, then we had to wait for over an hour to get our pizza (which in fact was delicious) but she didn't get us plates, so we asked for 2 (my husband and I) and she only brought one, when I asked for mine she suddenly makes me a horrible gesture like she's annoyed by our request which I kindly ask, no better way to describe her face than the picture attached. I was very very amazed because this is the first time I get such a childish behavior from a waiter. She eventually brought the second one, no words no sorry no nothing she just hand me plate and we started eating. The table next to us, they we're from Spain so we understood what they were saying, they were also bothered because she didn't give them a look and had been waiting a lot to get the check, so long that the lady went by herself to the cashier to pay, and when the waiter finally went to their table the man commented her that the food was not really good and she denied and not only that, she laughed at his face like if they were being annoying. One of the worst "dining" experiences I had on a 1 month Eurotrip. It's a restaurant run by an old woman who's incredibly cold and rude. We (a party of 2) went in for 2 spaghettis, a chicken dish and drinks. After finishing our meal, we headed to a nearby supermarket to purchase some items before it closed. We walked back right after the supermarket visit (must've been within 30 minutes) to have more food and maybe some coffee. My wife wasn't planning to eat as she had just eaten less than 30 minutes ago. The old lady angrily scolded us and said "no sharing" (the food). I told her that I will be eating alone while my wife will just be sitting with me. The old lady said "no" and walked away. We were literally there less than 30 minutes ago. Mind you we took the smallest table and the restaurant was empty at the moment.

The food itself was also mediocre at best and over-priced. We ate there because it was the only place open (that we knew of)...

I did not enjoy my experience here with the food or the service. Most importantly, the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara and it was tasteless. I also had a side of grilled veggies with were okay but again, lacked seasoning. The service was very transactional. No warmth from the owner or the 1 waitress. Plus, after asking for my check, I had to wait another 15 minutes (missing my bus) to be told to go to the counter. Although they asked everyone if they were paying with card or cash, when I said card, the guy (presumably owner, said “no card, cash only”. I asked why they asked everyone card or cash if card wasn’t an option and he said something in Italian that I didn’t understand. The atmosphere of the place was just very cold and unwelcoming.
