For the price of a good restaurant in the states, about 130.00 euros , we had a really great meal. While the service and the atmosphere are very good, the meal was outstanding. We both had the stone bass filled ravioli. The pasta was home made and perfectly cooked. The filling was masterful. We had delicious wine with our meal, and started with a perfectly prepared tuna appetizer. We ended with their tiramisu, ON heavens . It was as good as it comes. The food is just soo good
We find the Italian restaurants in Italy are generous with their food baskets and my wife and I usually will have one slice each. So we always ask them to just bring one slice so as not to waste . Fortunately the server told us that there are three kinds of bread in the bread service and they are all homemade.
. Let me tell you even the bread was out of this world. The front of the house is so well run , but the back of the house is frankly very very special. I thanked the person who seemed to be running things in the kitchen, which by the way is open to the dining area, and he was visibly emotional when I praised the kitchen
They take real pride in what they do. My wife and high left with a flow that lasted a long time. If you want a great Venice food experience at the price of almost any good US restaurant ( usually not this good) please give this place a try. From what we observed you should make reservations to avoid disappointment l. And believe me, you don’t when let this...
Read moreWhat a hidden treasure! Along the austere waterfront, where mediocre pizzerias and bored waiters reign supreme, lies this gem in a cool and green interior garden. We barely noticed the place while strolling by, desperate for a late lunch and cool drink in the hot early-afternoon son. Thank goodness we popped our heads in and saw the elegant lobby and chic bar and ventured to ask if they were still serving---and they were. The food is very good, a bit "experimental" for some tastes (asparagus gnocchi in cream-and-burrata sauce in the summer?) but delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Ask your servers a question about any recipe, and you will hear all about the exotic sea grass farmed in the clam banks in one dish, or the rabbit-hunting season for fresh hare in the ragú di coniglio in another. The service is smooth, caring and friendly, and the ambience perfect: there is the hip bar and dining room inside, and the rustic courtyard outside. To sum it all up, a real delight concealed behind an austere facade. Try this place if your'e in the area, you'll find it a charming and rewarding break from all the traditional trattorie and...
Read moreThis is the perfect example when a place is way too focused on appearance and aesthetics rather than having a personality. This place is for appetizers or cicchetti, they do have a couple of dishes but nothing great, a very average pasta. The cicchetti are decent though. The service staff lacks training, they rushed you through the process, we were literally barely sitting down and they were already asking for drinks. Three minutes later they were asking to take the order. Then we put in an order but they don't time anything, it was just a bombardment of plates. By the time we got to the main one the food was cold. Overall, the worst thing for me was the energy as whole, everyone working there looks stiff, tense or stressed. You can have a great meal for the same price at a real restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is nice, it's a place with great room...
