Everybody who knows me well, knows one thing about me: I love secret places. And if those places happen to offer food and drinks - I am the happiest man. Now I took a 45 minute boat trip to the already magical Burano. After scouting the vicinity following my usual principles, I found this jewel hidden and far away from what one would hesitate to call the main street - Burano only has about 2500 inhabitants. I took the leap, ordered the 20€ menue of the day and was not disappointed. Usually I hesitate, when I pay more than 30€ just for me - but well. It was worth it. The Pennette al Pomodoro were perfectly seasoned and well coocked. The Sepia alla Veneziana had a great texture and the sauce was with its ink. I accompanied it with a glass of red local wine. I can’t believe the server lied to us just so that we stay and eat. First, I ordered Campari spritz, I got Aperol spritz, I thought okay that’s fine mistakes happen, but when we asked to order GRILLED fish he said no because it takes long time, I said okay we will have drinks and go to another place because we want GRILL fish, he asked us to wait and came back saying okay you can have grilled sea bass, not the fish we wanted but agreed. What we got was DEEP FRIED FISH. My partner asked for the bill and only then he asked if everything is okay. We had an incredible lunch in Burano Da Furner, just steps from the ferry on the island’s most picturesque side of lovely pastel coloured houses and a dreamy atmosphere. The staff were warm and attentive, letting us enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace.

The food was outstanding and authentic, beautifully prepared, and full of local flavor. We shared raw local fish, traditional Venetian cicchetti, and a generous fried seafood platter. Alongside that, we had 1 bottle of Prosecco and 2 of Franciacorta.

For the quality, quantity, and wine, the price felt more than fair. The cozy interior, with portraits available for purchase, added a charming touch.
