Every time we come to Verona we either have lunch or dinner at Benvenuto. The food is great and plenty of it believe me: I strongly recommend if you are a salad fan thé Caesar’s salad and the Polpo bowl; pizzas are enormous and extremely tasty: my kids devoured them. The burgers hit that spot all the time(recommend strongly the Classic Everything on the menu is great but what makes the restaurant special is the service and the staff: from Aki to the manager, Alessandro, everyone is smiling and ready to assist with every single need of the client. Case in point: I asked if there was a cake for my daughter’s birthday. Even though they have individual desserts such as the tiramisu (yum)and the cheesecake to name a few, they don’t have an actual cake. Alessandro, the manager, offered to get her one, free of charge. Sono entrato la prima volta in questo locale ieri sera per la festa di Halloween organizzata per i bimbi. Eravamo tre coppie con figli, in totale dodici persone, premetto che in questo contesto le mie aspettative non erano certo fare una serata gourmet ma stare con amici mentre i bambini si divertivano fra loro con un pò di animazione, perciò non entrerò nello specifico del giudizio del cibo in se stesso in quanto lievemente giustifico il non poter esser all'altezza delle pur poche aspettative, due menù; uno adulti e uno bambini, antipasto un primo, un secondo con dolce e bibita e per i bimbi un piatto unico con hamburger patatine un pezzo di lasagna al forno bibita e dolce. 20€ ca. i bimbi, 30€ ca gli adulti. Quello su cui vorrei focalizzarmi è la assoluta mancanza di organizzazione e di un senso al serivzio. Nel locale saremmo stati una sessantina di commensali, veramente una cosa penosa, dimenticarsi le pietanze, il bere, con cose che arrivano e cose che devono essere chieste più volte... Prediamo una bottiglia di prosecco, pagandola a parte, c'è solo una marca di prosecco, uno. Non puoi scegliere altro... chiedo due coca cole in più per i bimbi... mai arrivate. Arrivati al dolce ci portano le panne cotte.... scaglionate, perchè servirne dodici assieme sembra difficile, con metà posate, al che mi reco al bancone e chiedo se posso avere sei cucchiaini o sei forchette, la barista un pò scoccitata mi da un mazzo di fochette in mano... Praticamente non ho mai visto un in vita mia una cosa del genere, dire un improvvisazione nel servizio, è un eufemismo, sembrava quasi una palese metodica ossessivamente pianificata per dismostrare la prorpia incapacità nel sostenere un servizio a dei commensali, dei dilettanti estranei alla ristorazione sarebbero risuciti a fare meglio. Concludo con la chicca, ore 22.30 chiusura della zona bimbi... va beh chiediamo il caffè al tavolo e ci impongono di prenderlo al banco perchè stavano chiudendo, ci presentano un conto per tredici persone mentre eravamo in dodici poi decurtandoci dal conto la persona fantasma ma ad halloween tutto può succedere :-) Morale 318€ per aver mangiato male ed essere stati sbattuti fuori alle 22,40. The food was cold and surprisingly terrible for Italian standards. Pulled pork which I was told was slow cooked in bbq sauce came out crunchy and sliced like kebab with no sauce. So not pulled pork or slow cooked at all. French fries cold. The veggie burger awful. The ice cream for kids powdery. My son ate 2 bites if that says anything. I also ordered a cappuccino that came in the right size cup but filled up not even half way. Play area great idea and woman who worked with kids great. The climbing gym needs a few repairs.
