Really enjoyable lunch here and they are to be highly commended for the work they do in the community. We came as we had to get a train later that day and the restaurant was well reviewed and not far from the station. It is located below a hostel and they specialise in hiring people with forms of disability. I cannot state how great I think this is. The benefit it gives people in society that are otherwise ignored from the workforce is excellent and largely the reason for the 5* rating. As the restaurant was full, and had tables reserved, I hope they are being rewarded for the work they are doing.

The menu is fairly focused on a few areas, but we ate the pasta and took the recommendations of the owner. The wild boar ragu was pleasant albeit not anything outstanding. The service was very warm and friendly.

What a fabulous find! We were staying close by and were worried that we would have to walk to the city center to find a good place to eat. Instead we found this fabulous restaurant on our doorstep. We hadn't booked and managed to get in, but people arriving later were turned away, so I would advise to book. We loved the food. I had the duck main course and my husband had the horse stew. We also had fabulous home made breads, very different styles and flavours. I had the local wine, which was a Villa Medici Custoza and it was really good and my husband tried the local beer, a Paciarina, which he said was really good too. For dessert we had the Cantuccini with grappa. Absolutely beautiful. The staff are delightful and we felt very spoiled with all the attention. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I see that there are comments about lack of choice, but we didn't feel that was the case and had no problems...

Avevamo prenotato alle 20.45, arriviamo con cinque minuti di anticipo e ci lasciano in piedi per almeno due minuti. La prima cameriera che arriva chiede se avessimo prenotato, comunichiamo il nome, ma il tavolo proprio al nostro fianco riservato e per due non ci viene dato e ci fanno accomodare in un secondo tavolo ( quello che per noi doveva essere il tavolo rimane vuoto fino alle 21.30 circa ) Una volta accomodati la cameriera ci informa che a breve ci porterà il pane. Il menu è già nella tovaglietta, fatte le nostre scelte chiamiamo la cameriera che ci dice di attendere, dopo qualche minuto chiediamo nuovamente alla cameriera di poter ordinare e anche questa volta ci viene indicato di attendere. Finalmente alle 21.05 ordiniamo. Un antipasto e due secondi. Ci informano che a causa dell’afflusso ci sarebbe stato da attendere. I calici di vino arrivano abbastanza velocemente, ma chi li porta non ha con se l’acqua, in un secondo viaggio della cameriera arriverà anche l’acqua. Nell’attesa dell’antipasto chiediamo il pane, che non arriva. Ci viene portato un entree ma senza spiegarci cosa fosse (sembrava salsa di pomodoro con un pizzico di aceto balsamico). Ottimo da mangiare con il pane, peccato che il pane non arrivi. Finalmente alle 21.35 arriva l’antipasto. Gradevole nulla da dire, peccato che l’antipasto è uno, il piatto è uno, ma a mangiarlo dovevamo essere in due. Ci arrangiamo e in qualche modo l’antipasto riusciamo a condividerlo. Dopo 10 minuti dalla fine nessun cameriere è venuto al tavolo a sparecchiare, ma nel frattempo giravano tra i tavoli cercando di chi fossero le pietanze e facendo avanti e indietro dalla cucina uscendo un singolo piatto alla volta. Finalmente ci sparecchiano il tavolo e senza dover attendere altro tempo ci viene servito il secondo. Due piatti pessimi, un carpaccio veramente brutto, carne tagliata spessa e con nervature, un vitello tonnato che era molto vitello e poco tonnato. Lasciamo praticamente i secondi sui piatti. Andiamo a pagare e preferiamo non riferire nulla al responsabile perché le critiche potrebbero essere costruttive, ma qui c’è un’intero ristorante da rivoluzionare, dal servizio alla cucina, all’illuminazione, alla cordialità. Allego due foto per farvi notare come abbiamo mangiato praticamente al buio. Il servizio oltre che non avere idea di cosa significa essere un cameriere non ci ha mai chiesto se avessimo bisogno, se fosse tutto di nostro gradimento, eppure il personale non mancava, abbiamo contato più di 5 camerieri per uno spazio esterno che al massimo aveva una ventina di tavoli. Insomma purtroppo e a malincuore non posso che suggerirvi di stare lontano perché non è stata...
