The owner was very rude. We entered, 3 people total, saturday, 9.15 PM; we've been there a few times before but not enough to say we're usuals as we live a bit far. We said hi to the owner, who was behind the counter and replied with a nod, and sat at one of the 6 free tables (2 inside, 4 outside - it's a nice december evening with temperatures about 10 degrees celsius). Very quickly he came by to say to our face "what are you doing sitting down without asking" and proceeded to tell us that table was reserved (no sign on it and mind you, this is a pub and not a restaurant) with a tone as if we were stupid, and leaving without saying anything more or listening to any response. There were 4 free empty tables outside in the cold and we were not offered to sit there even. When asked if we could eat, the owner said there was no spot available. The 4 tables outside would remain empty all night long. As far as reasons, all three of us were well dressed and fully sober, as we were coming directly from an art exhibition inauguration. I have to say I am very disappointed with the tone and the way we were told off; I understand being busy (they weren't), I understand being understaffed (no idea, but there were three people behind the counter with hands in hands when we came in), I understand not knowing how to do your job properly if you're new, but as the owner, being presumptuous when it's YOU who didn't say a single word when we greeted and sat at an empty table, or print a sign saying "reserved" (which, by the way, you could reuse, so it's not a wasteful investment), we found very unpleasant to be told off in such a know-it-all manner as if we were supposed to guess that all six empty tables at 9.15 PM (aka late for dinner) were reserved. For me this was very unprofessional and I won't recommend the place to anyone anymore, as I wouldn't want any friend of mine to me mistreated like we were for what was a honest mistake at least (but, again, never have I ever had to ask if I could sit at an empty...
