For a town as small as Aomori, there are sure quite a few specialty coffee cafes around. Unfortunately we only had time to visit one, so we visited this cafe. It is a very small cafe with probably 6 seats inside, and some seats outside. There were alot of decorations which makes it feel very cosy, however, also feels cramped. They have a wide range of coffee bean for sale but only one daily special bean for drinking. My wife ordered the daily pour over while i ordered then roasted green tea and apple cappuccino. The cappuccino was something i have not tasted before and it was really good with a strong roasted tea taste and the sweetness of fresh juice from the famous local Aomori apple. It really goes well together with the milk to form a tea based cappuccino. The pour over Geisha coffee was also good with low acidity and smooth to drink, with a nice after taste. Location is easily walkable from the JR or shopping district at the center. No toilet. Or at least i did...
Read moreThe coffee was excellent. More often than not, i check out a highly rated coffee place to end up disappointed. But this place is an exception. The barista greet and welcome you and provide a brief explanation of the menu. As it is freezing cold in Aomori, i chose flat white. The beans are freshly grinded after ordering and the flat white is definitely worth the wait. Smooth and full of flavour. While i don't understand the language, i can see that the baristas are fully engaging with their customers, like they were friends. It is such a comfortable and homely environment. As I'm leaving, a quick chat with the barista reveals that one of them actually spoke some Malay, what a delightful surprise :) The coffee is sugoi, but it was the warm and friendly barista that made this...
Read moreTried a few in Aomori and this one is easily the best so far. They have a wide variety of coffee bean selections, including some good geisha. They use quality grinder Ek43 and a conical grinder that I don't recognize (and LaMarzocco if you are into espresso).
Good 3rd wave coffee. All beans are medium roast but the hand pour I got was clean and tasty. I picked a Peru geisha and its a nice classic geisha profile. I got some good acidity with some peach aroma. I think it's the best option in the area. They take cash, credit card, and Ali pay. It's not cheap even though but I think it's worth it if you are into coffee and you don't have...
