Typical western style hotel in Japan. Good points: quiet, good location, smoking rooms available, free WiFi, comfy bed, room has TV, mini-minifridge, kettle etc. Staff are friendly enough, and speak enough English to get the message across. Breakfast can be included, which is a very tasty Japanese breakfast, in the dining area shared with another hotel, 3 floors down...||'bad' points.. my room has seen better days and could do with being redecorated at least; while tea bags for green tea (2 bags) are provided, there's no English/other tea, and no coffee. I phoned and asked for some coffee, but there's no room service. Ok, I'll come and get it... There's no coffee, except for at breakfast.||Breakfast is ONLY Japanese breakfast, nothing vaguely western (except the coffee). Aircon is about 30 years old, with 4 settings, off, cold, hurricane, arctic storm. ||Bathroom has washlet, sink, shower and bathtub, big enough for at least one 10 year old, or a small Japanese size adult. 5階フロントに降り立つと「昭和の世界」が一面に広がる、古く懐かしいホテルです。||でも、その実は「北東北・青森の方々の実直さ」が隅々に感じられ、心地よく、思わず応援したくなります。||||具体的には、こんな点に好感が持てました。||1.宿泊前のリクエストメールに対し、数時間後ていねいな返信がありました（これでホテルの善し悪しの察しがつきます）。リクエストも確実に反映されていました。||2.部屋がとてもよくメンテナンスされていました。確かに古さ故どうしようも無い部分もありますが、一生懸命に「良い環境にしよう」としているのが分かって嬉しく感じました。||3.懐中電灯が目立つ位置に設置されています。安全に対する意識が高い証拠ですね。||4.部屋のデスクが広く、コンセントが豊富にあります。お陰で仕事がしやすかったです。ただし有線LAN端子は無く、無線での接続のみでした。||4.ベッドが新しく、デュベタイプのメイクでした。しかも毛布まで常備していました。これは北国らしく親切ですね。||5.備品が新しいです。中でもこのホテルの雰囲気に合ったレトロ調デザインの目覚まし時計は素敵でした。また、ティーバッグはなんとハラールマーク付でした。||6.ユニットバスはスモールサイズ、水栓もサーモスタット付ではないです。しかし、水栓の切り替えレバー中立位置で水を止めることができます。一度決めてしまえば何度も湯と水の調合をしなくてすみ、実に便利です。||7.館内にある寿司屋さんから出前（ルームサービス）ができます。また、ランドリーサービスもあるのは本格的ですね。||8.朝食が美味しいです。よくあるブッフェではなく立派な和食膳で提供され、その一つ一つが丁寧に仕上げられています。手を抜きがちな香の物も美味しかったですよ。||||正直、トラベル初心者が宿泊すると「え、これ？」となると思います。||でも、ホテルを渡り歩いている人などは「ここ、良いじゃない！」となるはずです。||これは推測に過ぎませんが、このホテルを運営されているのは「旅人の気持ちがよくわかっている人」ではないでしょうか？||そう思わせる、良宿でした。||||最後に星数について。||気持ち的には5つ星にしたいですが、設備が古いことや他のクチコミを見ると部屋に当たり外れがありそうで...
