We pre-ordered the omakase for two, assuming that the photos posted on Google and on the menu would be a close representation of what we would be served. The minute we sat down at the counter, I realized we had a major problem. The condition and quality of some of the items in the display case was atrocious. The maguro akami was dry and discolored, and the uni was not even close to being yellow or orange in color. I brought up my concerns to the servers, and contemplated my next course of action. I politely explained to the server that would not enjoy my meal based on what I saw, and tried to negotiate a compromise to the late cancellation fee. Read moreHad a fantastic meal here. One of the recommended 3-4 Sushi restaurants Asahikawa. This is obviously a more popular one. Try booking by phone but were difficult to communicate so I asked the conceige to book. However, the staff and the chef were pretty good with English when we arrived. The place was pack with local and foreigner. The staff and the Chef welcome us and made us feel comfortable. We booked a full course Omakase and it was delicious. The ingredient was fresh and the Chef was skillful. The food was prep and present in thoughtful order. The finishing piece - Anago was beautiful ending to a wonderful meal. I'll definitely will visit Konishizushi again. 2 people full course omakase with Tsubugai and 2 big carafe of Junmai Daiginjo sake was 35k. Great value...

We were charged prices higher than those listed on the menu, on salmon and beer, due to seasonal price and menu not updated (we were advised by staff when we checked). We were charged 1000yen more for tax on the total bill (we never heard of for hundreds of meals we had in Japan before). It was the worst encounter we...
