This restaurant is located in ANA Intercontinental Beppu.
As this is a Spa and Resort, I reckon most of their guests are local Japanese but still there’d be a certain percentage of tourists come from other countries. The chefs (and the servers as well) got to understand that not all foreigners, when dining Western food, eat in the same way as the local - that is to have ‘everything’ served at the same time.
I could still prefer to have enjoy food that comes in ‘course’. The fries in the photo was supposedly a side for my steak, but it’d come with the appetiser.
I’d immediately asked the server to inform the kitchen to serve the main after we’d finished our Caesar salad. Apparently this was a bit late as the server had brought me a cold steak later. I’d to wait 30 min for them to redo another ‘hot version’ whilst my wife had already finished her main.

We really enjoyed the carpaccio, tomato caprese, bolognese (pasta can be a bit more al dente), and sashimi set. Miso soup and pita dumpling soup were flavorless and mehhh, but everything else was beyond our expectation!
