Outback Steakhouse Makuhari — Restaurant in Chiba

Indistinguishable from a US outback from menu selections to decor and music. 4 star over lengthy wait times at peak hours and hit or miss service - even during slow times (5 tables or less) it can be hard to gain a waiter's attention. There are no call buttons like in other restaurants and the music is a bit to loud to allow for verbally calling for attention as you might do in a purely Japanese establishment. This seems to leave waiters uncertain as to how often to visit a table (even if glasses are obviously empty and plates need removing) and has put me several times in an annoying game of trying to flag down my bill. I can't say I'd advise this place if you have a schedule to follow, but as long as you can track the extra time onto your meal the food is quite good and I've never had cold plates or incorrectly cooked steaks. (as long as you like outback's menu, you'll be happy) In other points, unless they changed since Feb of 2017 they aren't open for lunch, they have highchairs but the noise level and lack of convenient changing facilities make this mildly baby unfriendly, but they have a decent child's menu. The staff didn't warn us that "doggy bags" were not allowed BEFORE we ordered (even though we also ordered take-away food on the side), the waitress didn't seem interested and forgot one of our orders and generally the service felt less quality than before.

Also, in the 10+ years of going to this restaurant, I've only ordered steak once, because I feel they can't cook them well. My friend once ordered a rare steak and I ordered mine well-done, but the staff could only seem to cook them both medium-rare. Even after explaining to the staff about what both terms meant, our steaks came back incorrectly cooked.

Also, I've noticed that the decorations on the outside of the shop (such as the signage) seem old and slightly in disrepair, plus other shops/restaurants next to it have closed, so it doesn't look so appealing to me.

I doubt that I'll be coming back to to Outback Makuhari again after many years of patronage. The food quality isn't that great and the staff are not so...

Perfection .. Excellent Customer Service and High Quality Great Tasting Food! My first time back to this Outback Steakhouse since Covid; it was Better than I remembered. Ribeye steak cooked & seasoned perfectly; delicious... loaded baked potatoe was great. Great friendly customer service in a clean restaurant and spotless restroom. Also got a takeout order that was packaged for easy hotel consumption; included was plastic wear and napkins. I needed a taxi to get back to the hotel; the Male Restaurant Manager on duty on 28 September called a taxi for me and even escorted me out to the taxi ... Excellence in Customer...
