秩父に行くたびに気になりつつ、なかなか入れずにいたお店ですが、今回は1人だったので寄ってみました。入ってみると天井が低く屋根裏部屋のような落ち着く雰囲気…予想していたよりも狭く、かなり時代を感じさせます。種類がたくさんあって迷ったので、名前に惹かれてアンティークブレンドというのを頼んでみました。'100℃の湯で抽出するコーヒーですが、それで良いですか？'と聞かれ、意図が分からず戸惑いつつ注文。高温で香りが飛んでしまっているのではないかと心配しましたが、そんなことはなく、しっかりコクのある熱々の美味しいコーヒーでした。 カップやスプーンも味わいのある素敵なもので、お店の雰囲気とよく合っていました。

時々遭遇する、めんどくさい蘊蓄を語る珈琲店主かと思いきや、そんなことはなく、まさにコーヒー道の求道者なのだと思いました。 店内に置いてある古いものが良い雰囲気を醸し出していて、スピーカーから聴こえる音楽も心地よく、時間が許せばもっとゆっくりしていたかったです。 コーヒーのお供になるお菓子の持ち込みOKとのことで、隣の和菓子店で買った酒饅頭を一緒に味わいました。そんなおおらかさも、とても良いなと思いました。通いたいお店が増えました。 ちなみに、定休日は木曜日と、1のつく日だそうです。定休日と重なった場合は、翌日がお休みになるとのこと。ゆっくり静かにコーヒーを楽しみたい...
