秩父から西武秩父までのメインストリート番場通り。昭和感漂う建物から近年のスタイリッシュな建物まで立ち並ぶなんだか不思議な景観。この日はゴールデンウイークということもあり、太鼓ライブが通り一体で行われていた。身体に響く和太鼓の振動が迫力ある。この通りには名物のみそポテトやジビエ串、スイーツ店など食べ歩きも楽しめるお店がたくさん。他にもクルミ蕎麦や豚味噌のお店だったりと秩父はこのメインストリートに集約されているような感じで楽しめる。

週末や休日は観光客の方々で賑わいまして本当に地元の人間として観光でいらしていただく方に感謝です。 ただ残念なのが悪質な地元ドライバーによる危険運転が目立ちます　秩父の一般人は基本的にマナーが悪いなと思います　観光の方々を守るためにも時間による歩行者天国などの規制が必要かと思います もしくはポールなどを設けてスピードを抑止する対策もいいと思います せっかく遠方より多忙ななかこの秩父にわざわざいらしていただいた観光客の方々が猛スピードでクラクションを鳴らしながら威嚇を受けている様子をみると　大変申し訳ない気持ちでいっぱいです 観光でいらした御客様この秩父という街に来ていただいたのに本当に申し訳ありません 地元ドライバーの方は自分の行動をよく考えてくだ...

通りには色々なお店が並んでいます。

ただ、祭りでもない限り番場通りを歩く事が有りません。

電車で来た観光客の方々が秩父神社へ向かう為に使われるので歩行者が多いです。 人は右側、車は左側と習わなかった方が多いみたいで道の両側を我が物顔で何列にもなって歩いている観光客にイラつきます。 車で近づいても横に並んだ列は崩さずに歩いて来る方が非常に迷惑です。
