Suigetsu-an — Restaurant in Dazaifu

Dazaifu is so crowded but this place is like in another world of its own. The environment is so tranquil.

It is not a very known location yet so it is quiet. The restaurant has a very traditional deco. Diners will dine in different rooms. I had a whole room to myself! The room looks out to this beautiful garden. It’s so calming to dine here.

The food is simple and traditional. It’s like home cook food, yet so delicious. They have 2 set options for lunch. They are known for the tofu-nabe. It look so plain but taste amazing with the sauce. The side dishes and tempura are exquisite.

I was surprised with the service, they do it so traditionally, just like how it would be if you visit a high-end traditional Japanese restaurant.

Saigetsuan - Hidden gem Kaiseki restaurant in Dazaifu . บรรยากาศบ้านในสวน ทานบนเสื่อในห้องส่วนตัว โชคดีมากที่มีห้องว่างพอดี เพราะไม่ได้จองมา ตอนเเรกคิดว่าไม่เปิดด้วยซ้ำเพราะวันนี้เป็นวันเฉลิมฉลองเข้าฤดูใบไม้ร่วง แต่วัดดวงและได้กินเพราะมีคู่นักท่องเที่ยวก่อนหน้าทานเสร็จพอดี . หลังจากคุณป้าจัดห้องเรียบร้อย แกก็เชิญเราเข้าห้อง เเละเอาชาเขียวร้อนมาต้อนรับ (ชาหอมมากๆ และเราก็หิวมากๆ ด้วย) . รอสักพัก ออเดิร์ฟตามซีซั่นก็ถูกยกมา อันนี้คือดีมากๆ สาหร่ายกรุปๆ ในน้ำส้มสายชูหมักหอมกำลังดี เต้าหู้ผสมงาปั่นในโชยุนี่คืออร่อยน้ำตาไหล เกาลัดเชื่อมลูกใหญ่มากทานคู่กับใบเมเปิ้ล หวานซ่ามาเฟียมาก . จานสองเป็นฟักทองเชื่อม เห็ดหอม กับอะไรสักอย่างถ่ายไปทัน ข้ามไปจานสามเลยเป็นเทมปุระผักรวม เสิร์ฟมาพร้อมกับน้ำจิ้มยูซุที่คุณป้ากำชับหลายรอบว่าเก็บเอาไว้ทานกับเต้าหู้เย็น (จะเหลือหรอจุ่มเทมปุระลงน้ำจิ้มเต้าหู้ต่อหน้าต่อตาคุณป้า 😆🙏) ... ถ้าคุณป้ามาอ่านรีวิวผมไม่ได้ลองของท้าทายนะครับแต่ที่บ้านผมกินแบบนี้ (ดีนะไม่ขอไชเท้าปั่นเพิ่มด้วย) . ตบท้ายด้วยเมนคอร์สของงาน เต้าหู้ร้อน/เย็น และซุปไก่ ข้าวเปล่าและผักดอง ต้องบอกว่าชอบซุปไก่มากกว่าเพราะน้ำซุปกลมกล่อมไก่นุ่มมาก เต้าหู้ก็อร่อยไม่เหม็นถั่ว แต่ซุปคือเดอะเบสท์ . แต่ที่ประทับใจมากสุดคือการบริการของเจ้าบ้านครับ คุณป้าอธิบายทุกจานอย่างใจเย็น พยายามพูดภาษาอังกฤษกับเราที่สกิลญี่ปุ่นชวนปวดหัวมากกว่าจะเข้าใจ . คุณป้าออกมาส่งถึงหน้าประตู...

Happened upon this rather hidden restaurant after another one was full. Best decision we made in our trip to Daizafu! The service was great, the room where we ate our 5 course lunch was amazing, and the view of the garden from our table was even better! Such a great escape from the busy tourist area and a great place to rest after walking the shrines...
