Jya jya uma — Restaurant in Fujiyoshida

*Updating my review as I came here a third time and brought my son and his family (4 children). There was an English laminated card which had two items reversed from what the machine stated. We pointed it out to the cashier/waitress, not sure if they fixed it. Also we had a lot of orders and they skipped one. No apology, actually they didn’t believe they missed one order until they checked all their tickets. I think when 8 people are ordering the staff could be a little more kinder and accommodating. My husband who is Japanese never wants to come back due to their attitude towards big groups, foreigners, children. *

My second time here for lunch. The atmosphere is amazing with Showa era decor and music. There is a machine to order from which makes it fast and easy when you are in a hurry to leave. If you don’t read Japanese, you can use Google translate. The customer service is awesome, friendly and helpful. The ramen is tasty but could be a lot hotter temperature wise. Did not have the chance to taste the Ramen. We went there early and waited for them to open. We are with our family who live in Japan for over 30 years. Me being a foreigner was very exited to tell them that we are first in line and would like to have seat for 8 people - in English. The guy could not non understand me so my brother who is fluent in Japanese converse with him. He was told that non-Japanese speaking people could not enter. I can understand they might have difficulty serving non-Japanese speaking customers in the fast. However we are with 2 people who actually lives in Japan so there should be no issue with communication. I was really disappointed.
