Driving around Fujiyoshida, we found ourselves chasing the perfect view of Mount Fuji just before sunset. Every turn seemed to reveal a stunning angle of this iconic mountain, making it a dream destination for anyone looking to capture those picture-perfect moments. One of the highlights was passing through the Kanadorii (金鳥居), the grand torii gate that perfectly frames Mount Fuji in the distance. Fuji worshippers to the city, and to mark the "border" between earthly life and the spiritual world of Mt. Fuji. It was regarded a sacred object and passing under it was said to transport you. According to records, it was originally built in 1788, but it was repeatedly damaged by natural disasters over the years, and was thus reconstructed many times.
