All you can eat, week days until 3pm (4pm) If you do it for the first time, it is quite confusing and overwhelming. So, what to expect: It is a buffet style, but you order the meat seperatelly, but it is pricewise already included, (depending on the category you paid), which you will cook in a hotpot on your table by yourself, shared with the other mates from your group. All other things can just be taken from the buffet, see pictures. Some veg is probably there to be boiled as well, but that exceeded my knowledge...( trial and error or ask). There are unlimited refill drinks. You chose your categories before, but you will pay at the end. So here is how you get started for the 'All you can eat' menu, week days up to 4pm, but meat orders seems to finish by 3ish. You will be one party, all need to agree to the same meat category. Most expensive category involves more expensive meat, we went for the 2199y per person category, which had beef, pork, octopus, chicken, you can order meat in that cathegory then without limitation, although, there might be a time limitation of 60 to 80 min, but that is plenty of time. You determin the drinks category, with alcohol it is more expensive, we went for the soft drink category of about 299y/person. The last thing you have to decide is how many partitions your soup pot should have, 2 or 4 and they will ask you what basic soup stock you want in there for cooking your meat/veg There were 3 to chose from, one was spicy, may be tgere are more. I wasnt sure, if there was a little extra fee. Then you are almost ready to go. Once at the table you have a computer tablet which only allows you then to chose meat options from your paid category, you order and the little robot will bring your meat. Get your rice, veg, condiments and everything else just from the buffet and also get your drinks from your category. Reorder meat often, you can only go for 8 meats at a time... desserts free from the buffer as well, do your own pan cakes and top them.... Once you are used to order your meat via tablet, it is plenty of fun, a good communal/family experience, something for everybody. We paid less than 11000y, 4 hungry adults, (2 over 59, with a reduced price) plenty of meat, veg, salad, soft drinks, desserts all inclusive...great value for money on a Tuesday late...

Read moreThis is the 7th time I have visited Kawaguchiko, and 5 out of those 7 times, I chose to dine at this restaurant. This place has always been a 5-star restaurant in my heart for 4 visits! However, this time, to be honest, I felt upset, disappointed, and deeply hurt due to an incident with one of the staff members, which made me feel extremely embarrassed.
When my family (12 people: 8 adults, 2 children, and 2 infants) arrived at the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed and invited to our table. We were informed that strollers were not allowed inside but were not told where to leave them, and there were no signs around the restaurant. Our caretaker folded the stroller and placed it near the entrance inside. After that, we went to enjoy our meal happily.
When we came out to settle the bill, we asked for the stroller back, but we were reprimanded quite harshly in front of other customers at the counter for leaving the stroller in that spot.
We explained: "I have dined here several times, and the food and service have always been excellent. This time, I brought my company employees and family to dine. When we arrived, the staff invited us in and only mentioned that strollers were not allowed inside but didn’t tell us where to leave them. Our caretaker didn’t know and placed it in that spot."
I added: "I think the restaurant should designate a specific area for strollers to prevent such issues in the future."
One staff member replied: "If you didn’t know, you should have waited and asked here first," pointing repeatedly to the seating area in front.
I replied: "I went in because the staff informed us that there was an available table and allowed us to enter."
The staff responded: "One staff member mentioned that they asked a gentleman about this stroller, and he answered 'No!'"
I said: "I don’t know who gave that response, but strollers are necessary and valuable, and no one would intentionally leave them carelessly. I apologize if this caused you any trouble.
Thank you for your assistance."
The staff then asked me to wait and tried to repeat the same explanation as before, using a translation app to switch the language from English to Thai.
I responded: "I understand your point, but this situation arose from the circumstances I already explained. You can verify it through the surveillance cameras.
Next time, I will inform my companions and remember this incident. Thank you."
The staff continued to repeat their initial explanation using the translation app.
Finally, I said: "I believe the issue lies in miscommunication."
After that, we parted ways.
In reality, this issue was very small, and I never imagined it could go this...
