BEERHOLIC — Restaurant in Fukuoka

Stumbled onto this spot and wanted to try some Far Yeast Brewing beers. Didn't have a reservation and not a lot of seating, but I let them know we were just there for one round and it was pretty quiet as it was 5:30pm. They were able to accommodate the four of us.

Just two of us were really keen to drink beer and it was only after being seated and ordering we were told there was a one drink minimum per guest. Not sure that was necessary, but not wanting to kill the vibe, our partners got tea and cranberry juice, and we each ordered IPA flights.

Every beer was delicious, no off flavors. Just good, quality IPAs (a session, a Belgian, and a West Coast "juicy").

The atmosphere was a little stuffy. Staff kept to themselves and avoided conversation. Part of this is basic Japanese restaurant customs and part may be from COVID protocols. Even still, I would hope for slightly more passion and enthusiasm to match such a rare place serving both a great selection of domestic draught and imported cans...

Fantastic place. Only downside is it's a tad small, but the beers that you'll find here are amazing. The rotation is quite fast too, so if you are an avid beer taster, give it a week and you will most likely find a new nectar to try ! The place has good food too, simple but everything is made there and with a twist, let's call it "pimped out pub food", and it works. You can also just get in to grab a few cans to go from the always beautifully stocked fridge, or you know, just take 2 or 3 home to complete the 4 or 5 you already had there ;) finally, the staff is lovely, which is always great...

10 stars...Well if I could give 10 stars I would. Love...Love..this place..!!! Best beer selection in Fukuoka. On tap, cans & bottles. Just an amazing selection of some very nice beer. None of this Sapporo, Asahi,..Kirin swag...they serve the good stuff here...!!! Up to 12.5 %..don't need many of those..?? The food is great. Awesome hamburgers. Very nice bun, soft, fresh. 2 patties of real beef. Just nothing negative to say. Service was great, staff was great. Friendly..will definitely be coming back....
