Royal Garden Cafe Ohori Park — Restaurant in Fukuoka

NOT recommended for tourist!!! NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! RUDE!!

This restaurant ruined the image of Japanese. I m soooo disappointed to the service of this restaurant.

I raised my hand for almost 3 mins, there is 5 staff in the restaurant. The lady who is short hair and old, passed me by 2 times pretending not seeing me

I’d like to pack my kid’s lunch and take away, I am not sure if the staff English level is so low that, is “take away” a difficult term to be understood? He just took the dish away and put aside. I was in a hurry, after 5 mins I still cannot see the packed lunch. I asked the same male staff where was the lunchbox. He just repeat “where”? I told him, you just took my kids lunch, so where is it now? He kept puzzled. I used Google translate, he asked if i want a take away box? Ok yes but where did you put the lunch? He stood here and repeated my last word. I asked him to find someone who know English

Royal Garden Cafe Ohori Park is a chic modern looking cafe located right on the water of Ohori Pond. It has beautiful views and guests can choose to sit either inside or outside on the patio (although during busy time guests typically are assigned to available seats). The place is clean and efficient. Food is average tasting and heavy. Service is very polite yet it took about 15 minutes to address gluten free dietary limitations. We even had the chef come out to address it after a long and limited language discussion on the topic. Not many people speak English although the menu is both in English and Japanese; therefore, if there are no dietary restrictions, food could be ordered from the menu. During busy hours, there is a long wait. I would come back for the view but not food. Prices are slightly above average for this type of food and guests pay for the food at the exit counter. Credit cards are accepted...

Came across this place after paddling in a swan in Ohori Park. Initially was a bit skeptical as it’s in the park, thinking the choices were going to be a bit limited.

We ordered the hamburger set and the pasta set which came with a starter of pumpkin soup, salad and a drink of choice. Focaccia bread is also provided too! The hamburger was absolutely delicious! Hence the photo uploaded is a half eaten portion. It was so juicy and thick. Choice of rice or bread to accompanied this meal whilst the pasta was light, simple and tasty.

We ordered a side of chips as well.

We were seated by the window which has beautiful views of the lake, however seems like every cat and their dog had to do a photoshoot where we were eating which we ignored.
