Mei Cafe — Restaurant in Fukuoka

I really wanted to try Japanese Crêpes once, so when I saw this place, it made me want to go in to eat a nice and hot Crêpe as it was cold outside. Sadly, even though the place was nearly empty (only two tables occupied) the waitress said I couldn’t eat the Crêpe inside the restaurant. Sitting down is only possible if you order something to drink (why??). So I ordered my Crêpe to go. After payment I was told I would have to wait 15min for it. In the end it took only around 5 min, but it would’ve been nice to know before ordering. The Crêpe dough itself was way too oily, but the sweet potato filling was very good, so I’m giving 2...

arrived around 9:50am and was seated immediately - although the strawberry desserts were only available from 10, we were able to order first!

we got the strawberry crepe and tiramisu and two mandatory drinks (3919 yen) the strawberry tiramisu was light and delicious, and the crepe was fluffy with ample fruit ~ the americano had a nice fruity scent and was enjoyable as well

great atmosphere in the cafe although it was a bit weird that it doubled as the hotel above’s lobby area and guests were coming in and out. worth a visit if you’re into coffee/ seasonal...

Undisputedly best coffee in the area. Tried a few nearby but barely any contest. First coffee we had after a red-eye (as we are also staying in the hotel) - first sip and wow, this is good and that’s saying something, cos you can’t find good coffee in Japan (this was precovid), nada/zilch but i guess the coffee scene has matured significantly, for the better.
