Akamiya Cowsi — Restaurant in Fukuoka

Some of the best steak I've had in my life. I didn't have a reservation, but they kindly seated me. No English menu, but you'll be good to go if you read katakana! I don't sadly, so made choices based on prices and relying on the staff's English. Mind you I don't normally like to do that, but I expected there would be pictures in the menu. Bear in mind for shy folk who don't speak Japanese, it may be difficult to order but the food is so w o r t h i t. I'm thankful to the staff who were patient with me. Love the store - really good vibes (music / decor)

Went for lunch (thank you for having an English menu!) - and got a claypot (rice with oxtail!!!) lunch set, 200g beef tongue, 200g 友三角 (friendship triangle) and a beef katsu sando!

The beef tongue was fantastic - perfect bite, served with lemon for a bit of acidity.

The 友三角 doesn’t look rich, but it has layers of fat throughout with great mouth feel.

You get a little plate with condiments - wasabi, mustard, flaky salt and some kinda marinated garlic. The condiments are all excellent and go well with the meat.

It seems you get two sides with a lunch set and there’s a wide variety! Loved the pumpkin one...

I made a reservation with a set course, I think it was one of those where you try different cuts. Overall, the set was delicious and well balanced.

As part of my booking I had also made a request for a birthday message to go along with the dessert. We were pleased that the request was met, and we were also given a small, complimentary serving of chocolate cake, and this was before the actual dessert course.
