Stopped in around 5:45 pm local time on a Wednesday. Very easy to find as it’s right near the Hakodate station. Ordered the Pork back fat bone broth thru the vending machine at the front, paying first then received a ticket to turn in and sat down at the bar styled seating. Wasn’t too crowded yet so ramen came out within 5 minutes. The ramen was amazing and hit the spot on a rather chilly early May day. Self serve ice water at your seat is a massive plus as the ramen will be piping hot as it should be. Excellent service and very clean place. Definitely recommend for a delicious local ramen...
Read moreHakodate is famous for its shio ramen. A light clear broth flavoured with salt. Hakodate Noodles Enjin was close to our hotel, JR station, and the fish markets. It's also highly rated for Japan where I've noticed not many restaurants score much above 4 on Google.
The shio ramen is light with subtle flavours. Not the typical thick, tonkotsu style that you get elsewhere. When in Hakodate you must try the local specialty and this place does it well.

Read moreI saw good reviews of this ramen shop. We wanted to try Shio (salt) ramen and it was delicious here. The noodles are relatively thin. Transparent soup has good flavor. I couldn't grab Chashu. So tender and it fell apart by chopsticks. The shop has only counter seating, which accommodates less than 10 people. We came early and were seated right away, but by 6pm, there were about 6 people waiting outside. Come early if you don't want to wait...
