Kantaro – Sushi & Seafood Restaurant Goryokaku-koen Branch — Restaurant in Hakodate

Today me and my family went together for a late lunch at around 2pm, and we understand we are a big group and that most places can’t accommodate 10 people in the same table. So we decided to get two tables, one with 6 people and another with 4 people but both for the booth seating. We waited a good 40 mins for our first table but our second table took 1h30 to be seated meanwhile we were the only ones waiting. After our first table sat down, we saw another group of 3 people that came away after us be seated on the booth. The staff did not know English and it was hard to communicate our frustration… It looked like they skipped locals ahead of us for being foreigners. Good sushi but bad experiences. On another note, sushi came pretty fast as it was ordered on the iPad. At the time we came we had the last 3 pieces of fatty tuna and our second table didn’t get to enjoy any, as well as of some other items that were sold out. We had the crab butter which ended up being extremely fishy and strong tasting (wouldn’t recommend). All of the fried items we had were delicious but it takes a couple of minutes so I would order first fried items. All other sushi pieces we had (besides the crab butter) were good especially the fatty tuna, and...

This was my favorite "conveyor belt" sushi restaurant I've been to in Japan (or anywhere for that matter). The setup is quite modern, which is nice for non-Japanese. You can order your food directly from a tablet in your preferred language. It also shows you pictures of the items and gives you a running total on your bill, so there are no surprises when you get the final bill. Each order was prepared fresh and in a timely manner. Was it the best sushi I've ever had? No, but make no mistake, all the sushi we had was very good and it beats the sushi I've had in the US by quite a margin. If you're looking for a really good meal made to order, at a reasonable price, this is your place. I recommend arriving close to opening as possible if you don't want to wait, this place...

その他色々と良かった事もありました。 良かったところは以下の通りです。

〇良かったところ ①とにかくお寿司が全体的に美味しい。

②お寿司のネタがどれも生臭くなくて、 とにかく美味しい。

③お寿司のネタが北海道ならではの大きい。

④シャリの握り方がとっても絶妙な 握り方で、もうご飯がふんわりとして、 美味しい優しさがとっても伝わってくる 美味しい握り方です。凄いですから。 これ1番素晴らしいと感じました。

⑤タッチパネルで注文してから、直ぐに 握って職人さんから直接届けてくだ さります。

⑥回転していないので、お寿司が握り たてで本当に美味しいです。 表現として、ふんわりしてて、 優しさと美味しさが伝わるお寿司です。

⑦職人さん一人一人が元気良く、愛想が よく、礼儀正しい方たちで、とても お店の雰囲気が良く、心地よいお店で した。

⑧接客の方たちもとても丁寧で、親切に 説明してくださいました。おもてなし がとっても伝わってくる心地よいお店 でした。

⑨お寿司以外の揚げ物なども、これまた 格別に美味しく、揚げたてで良かった です。

⑩大手回転寿司屋さんに比べたら、 お値段は少し高く感じるかもですが、 とにかく満足度が100％なので、 お値段以上に満足させてくださる お寿司屋さんでした。 食べ盛りの高校生の子供たち3人と 親2人で飲み食いをおなかいっぱい 、好きなだけ食べて2万千円位。 散々食べてですが、満足度が半端なく 満たしてくださいます。

⑪2023年1月5日の夜に伺わせていた だきました。観光客です。 函館観光を終えて、湯の川温泉の宿 から夕飯に合わせて路面電車で移動 して行きましたが、ちゃんとお店が 営業しててくれました。 他のまる何とかと言う寿司屋は、 ネットやホームページなのどでは しっかりと営業中となっていても、 いざ店に行ってみると、正月休み となっている。散々歩いてネットや ホームページをしっかり調べて行っても、 勝手に休み。来店者をバカにしてます よね。観光客はわざわざ行ってるにも 関わらず。事前に教えてくれたら 理解するのに。 でも！ 函太郎さんは、ちゃんとネットや ホームページ通り営業してくれて いるんです。 観光客にはちゃんと予告通り営業 してくださっているのが本当に 助かるんです。これがありがたいんです。 休むなら教えてくれればいいんです。 当たり前の事をちゃんと教えてくれて、 実行してくださる函太郎さんは、 観光客や地元民さん達にはとっても、 ありがたいお寿司屋さんです。
