On this radiant, sun-kissed day, the vibrant spirit of Japan embraced us as we prepared to bid farewell to our cozy hakonehostel1941. Just as we were about to leave, Kana San, the warm-hearted owner of the hostel, surprised us with a thoughtful treat to a nearby enchanting cafe.

As we stepped into the charming cafe, the sweet aroma of freshly brewed matcha filled the air, instantly igniting our senses with delight. The moment we took our first spoonful of shaved ice cream, topped with luscious matcha flavor, velvety red beans, and drizzled with heavenly condensed milk, we knew we had stumbled upon a true culinary masterpiece.

The cool and refreshing dessert swept away the lingering summer heat, leaving us feeling invigorated and content. The joyous laughter and heartfelt conversations shared with Kana San created an atmosphere of pure happiness and friendship.

Kana San's kindness and genuine hospitality touched our hearts deeply. Her caring nature and sincere gestures made her more than just a host; she became our dear friend in Japan. With her infectious smile and compassionate soul, she left an indelible mark on our memories.

As we expressed our heartfelt gratitude to Kana San, we knew that this day would forever remain etched in our hearts as a beautiful chapter of our journey in Japan. We thank you, Kana San, for making this day truly special and for being an incredible host and...

Lovely cafe run by friendly elderly couple. I can see that they take pride in keeping the place well maintained, despite the number of things (fixtures, furniture, decorations, etc.). Two tables on level 1, more tables on level 2. Accessible location in Hakone, being near a major junction where buses from different routes meet. Good food, prices ok...

A retro style cafe. Their signature is “red bean paste”. They serve the red bean paste with ice cream, parfait and sticky rice cake ball. The staff is kind and friendly. There are several seats in the 1st floor but a bit small, so I recommend 2nd floor as it is quite spacious and more...
