The Fujiya — Restaurant in Hakone

I had dinner in the restaurant and despite the waiters with the uniform and the location, the service and restaurant are nothing right. I have allergy to lactose and the waiter was not understanding english, nor knowing what is inside the food they serve. Despite the menu indicates gluten free and vegan meals, the waiter reported the food was with milk. Clearly she is not knowledgeable enough to avoid clients to feel bad for what they eat. Also, i asked what was the mix of 7 grilletto vegetables and she did not know. None serve the bread to me or asked if i wanted the dessert. Definetely a cloth does not signify anything. The hotel is an old school lovely classy hotel and the staff are very nice. The reason my review is not higher is because the Fujiya restaraunt inside the hotel had some serious flaws. The portions are microscopic. I ordered 4 dishes and none of them were very good. I had to sit at the table and wait way too long to be brought the next dish even though it was empty. For such an upscale place I expected better food and better service in the restaraunt. Great food, amazing service, good for value, more of a high tea experience for the classy people out there, it’s such a great vibe, the customer service is on point and the food was just right!
