UNDER THE PALMO — Restaurant in Hayama

So the view is great we all agree on that. The place is great it's very lounge ish very Instagram ready. But as a restaurant it's catastrophic. First of all you have to queue to order. The menu is terrible (how am I supposed to guess if the " tomato cream rice" has chicken in it if it litteraly says "tomato cream rice") you have to ask explanation for everything. Which makes the queue grow quite long. So there is a wait. Also the place looks big but tables aren't shared. So while a big table surrounded by a big squared couch is very fancy looking indeed, it's just a table for two if two people sit there. There was a long queue by the time we left.

And the prices are ridiculous. Min 2300 yen for a plate like in the picture. For a 2300 curry you should expect more than ready-made meatsauce with curry powder in it. You should expect the best curry of kanto for that price. Same goes for any other dish. Pickles we're bad too. Seriously the prices were shocking, and the level of food even more shocking. Again place is beautiful. But don't eat there its not...

Lovely café with a stunning sea view. There was a waiting list when we arrived, so we wrote our names down. Unfortunately, some people who came after us were seated before us — even ahead of others who were before them on the list. It seemed like the staff weren’t really keeping track, which was a bit frustrating.

Once we were seated on the terrace, though, the view made up for it — very peaceful and relaxing.

Since the evening was a bit chilly, we ordered hot wine, lasagna, and pizza. Everything tasted good, and the lasagna portion was surprisingly large.

Expensive open air lounge. Very good location with direct view on the ocean and the beach. A kind of wooden deck, with some parts a little covered to protect from light rain. DJs are airing lounge music. There are seats at a kind of open counter facing the sea, and others like matresses where you can seat or lie. Best to visit at sunset. Usually, you'll have to wait to be seated even if there are many available seats. Romantic place, many couples and quite quiet atmosphere. Not much choice in drinks and foods, drinks are basic,...
