A nice little coffee shop with some decent coffee. Don't come here expecting quick service as they only have one person behind the counter and there can sometimes be a a few people. The menu is in both Japanese and English so it makes it very easy for tourist to order. Loved the jazz they were playing out of the 2nd or 3rd gen iPod. It's a perfect spot to relax and get coffee and check your emails before hopping on a train.

There are two large tables to sit at and share with others. The design is to discourage people from staying long. The menu is in English and Japanese and the background music was a bit loud but I liked it, so I didn't mind too much.

I visited Hikone this weekend and I tried to look for a unique cafe around the area. This cafe is located just outside Hikone station. I tried their Strawberry Affogato and it was really good. They also sell some cute stuffs like bags, pins, pillows and hair accessories.

Atmosphere, professionalism, sophistication, flavour of the product - this place has it all. The mood, lighting, decor and music (very laid back) are delightful. Then there's the coffee. Have it how you like, but simple drip filter coffee, black, no sugar - so far from how I usually have my coffee with milk and sugar, but the exquisite flavours here make it a crime to add anything. Hands down one of the best coffee shops I have ever entered. By the way, coffee 'stand' might suggest a windy street corner, but this is an intimate and cosy nook. It would be worth the train fare from Kyoto or Osaka to...

I don't want to share this place with anyone else because it's so good. I'd feel bad if I didn't leave them a review for other travelers. This place is so nice, I really love it. The coffee was delicious. I had the caramel lattee and the bottom layer was sweet and milky, but finished off with a nicely bitter expresso. The owner or worker there was very nice and he worked quickly to get everyone's orders out fast. I felt a bit bad for him that it was busy, but he didn't seem bothered and just continued working...
