This cafe is unmatched. The couple who run it are the sweetest people. We were in Hiroshima for three days and each morning we went here for breakfast.
The food was delicious, and made with such care. The details, such as a little bear cookie that hangs off the rim of your drink is so cute! It's also a very affordable breakfast set (¥550-680).
The atmosphere was great, and so calming. It was almost like a studio Ghibli movie. The music that plays is so nice and the decorating has been done with such care. We didn't know until the last day that the artwork displayed is actually because the space is used as a free art gallery for artists!
The couple who run it are tremendously kind, and every morning after our meal, they would serve us a different Japanese traditional drink as a gift! They also have a little translator that they use to talk to you if they want to tell you something in detail which is really great, so make sure you have your google translate at the ready to translate whatever you want to say into Japanese!
If I'm ever back in Hiroshima, I will definitely come back...
Read moreI had the most amazing breakfast experience at this place. The food was so tasty, we went back 2 days in a row (would've gone every day of our trip if they were open). Their french toast has a nice soft crunch on the outside from the caramelized sugar, and is perfectly soft and chewy on the inside. Their mini croissants were flakey and buttery. For my coffee I ordered the Mexico honey, as it was recommended to me as a sweet and soft coffee. It was exactly as described and the coffee was so smooth that it can be enjoyed with no milk or sugar added. They offer a full page of coffee from different countries, and also individually packaged drip coffee for sale. Not only is their food excellent, we also had the pleasure to speak wih the owners of the cafe and they are extremely friendly and welcoming. They showed us origami, calligraphy, and treated us to matcha. They also have a small gallery of art by local artists. It was a very warm and welcoming experience and I would highly recommend anyone in Hiroshima to visit...
Read moreMy friend and I came in on a random Monday morning pretty early, filled only with locals, and while busy, the owners graciously hosted us right away.
The food was an excellent non-traditional breakfast set with sandwich, yogurt, salad, and specially sourced coffee with haneda cookie. Kept us full most of the day until we made it to Miyajima island.
The older couple who runs and owns the cafe was the sweetest and kindest we’ve met on our entire trip. They took time to kindly ask us about our background and show us some magazine guides as we mentioned our plans to go to Miyajima with friends who live in the area.
To begin with, we were in a bit of a time crunch to meet our friends, but when they wouldn’t let us leave without trying their graciously prepared Uji Matcha and red bean jelly cubes, we couldn’t refuse. It was fantastic and made us feel so welcome.
I’d come back here in a heartbeat and we wished we had had time to go back the next morning as well.
