Shiroshio Park — Attraction in Hiroshima

One of the few Hiroshima parks with more grass than concrete, good river access (SUP, kayak + other water boats popular here), good playground,lots of space for kids (+dogs) to run, lots of trees to enjoy picnics under any sunny day of year- especially beautiful in Spring + Autumn.

Drinking water fountain, basic but usually clean toilet (many people go to next door DIY shop instead)

As usual for Japan parks, there's usually a problem with plastic litter + garbage inside park + along river water edge. Plastic pipe tubes wash up from oyster industry & styrofoam from fishing industry as well as litter.

Typically there's no garbage area to use and no sorting bins for recycling, burnable, compost or others as Japan is choosing a 'take your garbage home with you' approach. This may reduce labor needs for garbage collection, but does mean there's more litter dumping which ends up in the river + ocean + part of ocean plastic garbage...

A nice park that easy to find near at hiroshima station. the thing is no free parking. not other park have huge parking． what i LOVE here is you can do Barbecue....

こんな広島の町中にこんな素敵な憩いの場があることが嬉しすぎる。春には桜が咲いて、花見の客で満員になる。近所だけでなくあちこちからわんさかやってくる。たまに輩が騒いで警察が来たりもする。遊具もあって広場もあって、隠れ家のようなベンチもあってデートも出来て、老若男女が楽しめる公園。火を使うことができるので、バーベキューをやっている人も多い。以前に私も参加したことがあります。トイレが小さくて汚いのが、、、だけどそれくらいは仕方ないかな。駐車場がないので、路駐してるひともおおいが、近くのダイキに止めている人も多いのだと思う。みなさん一度来てみて下さい。名前...
