The tasting menu changes monthly, and for September, it was all about showcasing the flavors of autumn. Shine Muscat Macaron with Foie Gras Chilled Abalone & Abalone Liver with Green Papaya Salad Matsutake Mushroom Royale Whole Okra Farci with Gumbo Soup Grilled Grunt Fish (Isaki) with Maitake Mushroom Sauce Grilled Spiced Veal with BBQ Sauce Pear Soup with Ginger & Honey Ice Cream
Every dish in the course was truly deliciousâone delight after another.
In dish 2, the abalone was topped with a sake jelly, giving it a refreshing flavor and unique texture. The green papaya was also perfectly crunchy and paired so well with it.
Dish 3 was my first taste of matsutake mushrooms this year! Their rich aroma was so distinctiveâit really lingered beautifully as I ate.
But the dish that moved me the most was â€: the grilled Isaki. The fish was cooked to absolute perfectionâcrispy skin, fluffy tender flesh. The maitake mushrooms added a true sense of autumn, and the soup was a consommé base that was so delicious I was nearly in tears.
One thing that really impressed me personally was their house-made olive oil. It even had olives in it, and I loved it so much I ended up finishing it all by myself!
After dessert, they brought out a final round of sweets and fruitâ like a little surprise saying, âThereâs still more!â It was such a fulfilling and fun way to end the meal.
The wine pairing was also fantastic. Each wine matched the dish it came with, ranging from fruity and light to rich and full-bodied. Since I chose the smallest pour for each wine, even someone like me whoâs not a big drinker ð¥ could enjoy the whole pairing comfortably.
The restaurant was full of people celebrating birthdays, and I thought, âWhat a perfect place for a special occasion!â
And just when I was about to leave and went to the restroom, I found a motion-sensor parrot ðŠ that chirped every time someone passed byâ I burst out laughing on the spot! Now Iâm seriously considering getting one for my own home ð¥ðŠ
With food this delicious, such attentive service, and no service chargeâ I honestly couldnât believe the price.
Just my personal opinion, but the quality of the food here rivals, or even exceeds, top restaurants in Tokyo. The cost performance and level of service make this place feel like a true hidden gem.
