寿五八 — Restaurant in Ishigaki

Wasn't expecting to find such good ice creams on a small tourist island as Ishigaki. We came after eating dinner for a dessert seeing long queues beforehand. Maybe it's the weather or the island vibe itself however everything about them is superb - consistency, texture, taste and remind me the top gelateria from Rome, Italy. Even the simplest milk taste is really good, but the fruit ones are the go to option in our opinion. An absolute gem of a gelateria run by a lady who clearly knows her gelato. The flavours are thoughtful and inspired, and appear to change often. When we visited, there was a good mix of local ingredients (jimami tofu, brown sugar, and Yaeyama Genki) and classic fruits (blood orange, white peach, and framboise). Highly recommended, unfortunate that we only found it on the last night of our trip...

I didn’t expect to find such incredible gelato in a small island like Ishigaki — but I’m so glad I did! The owner is truly talented and passionate about her craft, and it shows in every scoop.
