鮨笑 すししょう — Restaurant in Izunokuni

Was really looking forward after seeing the reviews on Google. Upon arriving the restaurant had a signboard that said was full but there were seats available on the counter. Nonetheless the owner came out to say will probably be available at 6:30pm (it was 5:25pm then). I then proceeded to wait for an hour which then another 3 pax that came after me was allowed entry. It was upsetting but anyway i told them i have been waiting for an hour and then they let me in. Perhaps they were busy with a large table seated inside. However, whole experience felt like foreigners weren’t really welcomed.

Food wise, it wasn’t bad but nothing too amazing as well. Fish were fresh but not mind blowing. Tempura on the other hand was pretty good. And chutoro was the more remarkable cut when compared relatively to the rest. Good thing is pricing is...

This restaurant have just opened for few months. All of staffs and local people welcomes me very well.

Price is very reasonable compared with what you get, both amount and quality.

This is the best sushi restaurant in my trip in Japan this time!! Thank you for a good time in Izu.
