Momiji-chaya — Restaurant in Kamakura

We did not have a chance to dine in. We sat at the waiting area to wait for our turn. For 10 minutes, the female staff was blind or something for she did not make eye contact or acknowledge our presence. She even went past us to go outside to post sold out for one of the dish and also to bring the poster stand inside. All along, not a glance at us. We look inside we saw several empty tables, and few staffs were hanging around talking. This is the worst service I have ever seen in Japan. We decide to go down the street to dine at Cafe 310....and this was totally opposite. Service was excellent, foods were great and the price was extremely reasonable.

For the Momiji chaya, I wish I can give zero or negative star. 1 star is way...

This cafe has a cute comforting atmosphere and the service is very good.

I ordered an Udon set and I was not impressed. The soup tasted mild, although I did enjoy the sweet tofu wrap around the Udon and the Udon was fresh and a very good texture.

I’m sure it was one of the best udon I had ever tasted. Ginger, soy milk mentaiko and tofu slices in a well prepared udon. A real nice combination and it was offered as the daily suggestion.
