Perfect small restaurant run by a couple, husband as chef, wife as a service crew.

Extremely welcoming to my family (who couldn’t speak Japanese, only English). Wife is extremely patient to us and explained everything clearly despite the communication barrier.

Husband Chef very cute and funny! Makes joke with us and even provided complimentary side dishes while we were having sake after our meal!

Food is fresh, taste is great!

Was looking for dinner after riding on Sagano Romantic Train and found this wonderful Japanese restaurant run by Chef Kenichi Nakano and his wife.

They were hospitable and foreigner friendly! Loved their warm service and food. Tried their Chiraishi which had tuna, swordfish, crab meat, ikura (fish roe), unagi (eel) and tamago. Portion is generous and I really enjoyed it!

I recommend anyone who is in the area to give this a try. Anyone who love Unagi should order...

It’s amazing. We finished white water rafting at Big Smile across the street and we were starving. Did not want to travel far and ended up at this fabulous restaurant. They didn’t judge our overly casual outfit and served us the best food. You are receiving more than what you paid. Both my 10 year old daughter and myself loved this place.
