Best chicken karaage we’ve ever had. The serving size was huge. The risotto of the day was tomato and cheese and oh so good. We also ordered the honey cheese pizza as an appetiser, very different and delicious! The Hamburg omurice was exceptional as well, not salty with a large patty packed tightly full of meat. Fish and chips was fried pieces of cod and many potato wedges. All the food was made to order by one chef. Good food comes to those who wait! They had a craft beer event going on with locally brewed beer using fresh hops. The chef took time to chat with us about the craft beer. He spoke some English. His wife was running tables and she is also an artist. They have a little section at the entrance where you can buy her art pieces as cards. They are mostly pictures of cats of their customers around Japan. The restaurant is small and could use better ventilation but I think still worth the experience for the belly. Just to clarify, I am not part of the group you mentioned in your reply. I left my comment simply as a reminder to myself based on others’ shared experience. (One detail that stuck with me was the charge of 6,000 yen for just three pitchers of water.)
Additionally, I didn’t expect to be misidentified and also given a lecture on language and cultural responsibility.
However, your response actually confirms my impression—that perhaps your restaurant isn’t very welcoming to foreign guests.
