The nigiri is delicious and well priced; I particularly liked their tuna and grilled eel. Omakase of this quality would cost you at least double in Tokyo or a major city. But what really sets this restaurant apart is the incredible hospitality and service.
Despite not speaking English, they went out of their way to make me feel at home and gave me a warm and friendly welcome, even using google translate to converse with me. I have never experienced hospitality like this; for instance, when it began raining, and I told them I arrived by bicycle, they not only sent a waitress out to check if the rain had stopped so I could ride home, but the owner and head sushi chef himself dried my bicycle seat off for me so I'd have a more pleasant ride home! They should win an award from the Japanese government, because this is the kind of service and warm welcome the Japanese rightly pride themselves on. The most joyous restaurant experience of my life; I'm still smiling thinking about it...
Read moreA group of us had a very delicious omakase course with tempura and nigiri. The tempura oyster and sweet potato were favourites, and we loved the selection of fish for the nigiri. The family running the restaurant are very kind and accommodating, and the restaurant has a friendly neighbourhood atmosphere. The sake recommendations were also great 🍶 I would definitely recommend this for visitors...
